RALF OHLETZ VON PLETTENBERG

Ralf's career is its own bibliography of post-war luxury hospitality. After the London Hilton, Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong, the Pierre in New York, and Cornell, he joined Adrian Zecha at Beaufort in 1987 to build The Sukhothai Bangkok, The Beaufort Singapore, and The Beaufort Brisbane. From 1991 to 2014 he was Vice President Operations and Development at GHM, where the philosophy of the unbranded, product-driven, location-defining property was crystallized: The Setai Miami, The Nam Hai, The Legian Bali, The Lalu, The Datai, The Ananti, the Chedi properties in Muscat, Andermatt, Montenegro, and beyond. Twenty-five luxury properties, none repeated. He served as President of Regent Hotels from 2014 to 2019, opening properties in Bali, Boston, Phuket, Montenegro, Chongqing, and Phu Quoc. Since 2019 he has been a partner in the Unique Hotels and Resort Company in Provence, and is presently a partner and Director of Product and Development at LHM. His properties have collectively been recognized by Condé Nast Traveler among the top ten hotels in the world fourteen times.

At Private Label Design, Ralf leads brand and concept architecture, food and beverage and operational expertise, owner and operator relationships, and the chairmanship of taste.

CHRISTOPHER NOTO

Christopher began his working life in equity investments at Citibank in New York and Chicago, having read at Georgetown, raised in Washington, born in Los Angeles. He left the bank in 1997 to follow a longstanding passion for Asian art, antiques, and design, opening a retail showroom from a base divided between Bali and Singapore. The showroom became a design studio. The studio became a procurement and styling practice for some of the most regarded hotels and resorts in the world, working in close collaboration with Ralf on a number of seminal projects, among them The Setai Miami, Amanyara in Turks and Caicos, and The Datai Langkawi, alongside a long roster of Aman, GHM, and Four Seasons commissions across Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. His work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, and Taschen’s Living in Style in Paris. He divides his time between New York and Paris.

At Private Label Design, Christopher leads creative direction, design and styling, the procurement engine, and the firm’s western-facing relationships.
